Dear EVERYONE, As you may know I've been working on publishing a photography book to support an amazing orphanage in Cambodia, Who Will Village. 100% of the sale price of the book will go to the orphanage thanks to a generous donor paying our printing costs and the design company working probono. I now need your help. If you have ever used one of my photos for a facebook profile pic, or asked about cameras, or something like that, now I need your help. We have 2500 books and we need to sell them. You can help by buying one as a Christmas present for everyone you know ;-) I have attached the book cover, a flyer, and an invite to the launch (150 limit). If you could add your name as the contact and promote the book amongst your colleagues, friends, anyone, YOU can really make a difference to the lives of 44 kids in Cambodia this Christmas. When we sell out we will raise enough money to pay the running costs of the orphanage for one year(US$50,000). If you collect the orders I will deliver the books to you early December(HK) or mid December(Australia). The launch party on Tuesday 30th Nov, will also be Corinne and my farewell party from HK as we head off back to Oz on the 9th Dec. There is more information on our website: www.cambodiawithlove.com RRP is HK$250 (US$35) Glossy Hardcover Landscape 280mm x 229 160 pages 140gsm FSC Paper Become a Fan on Facebook: Cambodia with Love <http://www.facebook.com/#%21/pages/Cambodia-with-Love/167179619970108> Thanks everyone, Tim Bowman RECRUITMENT DRIVE!!! Please get your tickets quickly! You can email us on the Sakka website or visit our event website at: www.hkblackandwhiteparty.com Sakka team members are planning our next trip to Cambodia! We will be heading over to Phnom Penh during the weekend of November 25th - 28th. We are looking for anyone who has a used laptop computer or digital camera that we can bring over there with us ! During our last trip to Cambodia we were privledged to visit and meet the students of two schools, located in seriously impoverished communities around Phnom Penh. One of the buildings houses between 3,000 - 5,000 people. The group on the ground has set up a free English and computer training school for the residents of the slum to help them gain a better education. They also have 3 other locations, one of which we visited which is located along the railroad tracks. This community is a slum community, mainly consisting of displaced families whom have come to live besides these railroad tracks, with very little access to education. Sakka Foundation has earmarked US 1,300 donation towards the refurbishment of these schools, help for educational cost for a student there + also 3 months teacher salary. We are hoping to secure used laptop computers to help them expand their computer labs! Sakka Foundation has sent over the funding to pay for the tuition for another one year for our two university students. The two boys we are supporting, one in nursing school, one in law school, are the first from their orphanage community to qualify for university - and they set the example for the other over 60 children living there. We wish both boys the best of luck in their studies this coming year! Sakka Foundation has just donated US 1,000 towards Cambodian Smile. This projects helps mother's and children in very rural communities to receive dental care, including tooth extractions, toothbrushes and toothpaste, dental and health hygiene educational training and much more. By the age of 5 years old, typical Cambodian children will have more than 5 decayed teeth...lack of dental care leads to many other diseases that can be prevented! These communities are located very far away from a hospital and doctor/dental care, therefore preventing the residents from getting any type of medical support or care. Sakka Foundation earmarked this 1,000 USD as the beginning to the funds that we would like to raise to support this program. It costs just US 15 per child per year to provide We are so proud - this article is a collaboration of our team members input and inspired from our last incredible trip to Cambodia....enjoy....
