We are hoping to secure used laptop computers to help them expand their computer labs!
During our last trip to Cambodia we were privledged to visit and meet the students of two schools, located in seriously impoverished communities around Phnom Penh. One of the buildings houses between 3,000 - 5,000 people. The group on the ground has set up a free English and computer training school for the residents of the slum to help them gain a better education. They also have 3 other locations, one of which we visited which is located along the railroad tracks. This community is a slum community, mainly consisting of displaced families whom have come to live besides these railroad tracks, with very little access to education. Sakka Foundation has earmarked US 1,300 donation towards the refurbishment of these schools, help for educational cost for a student there + also 3 months teacher salary.
