Project Selection Criteria
We follow a rigorous selection process for projects with which we partner based on the following criteria:
• Alignment of goals: projects must offer health or education benefits to impoverished children in Southeast Asia
• Communication and Trust in the local management: we personally get to know the leaders of the projects, engage in in-depth discussions about the projects, and maintain strong communication ties with them.
• Sustainability: projects must be sustainable in the long-term according to a sufficiently detailed financial plan, including overhead expenses.
• Efficient and appropriate use of funds: project leaders must present a specific, quantifiable and tangible plan for how our funds will be used to benefit the health or education of the children they support, including statistics and proof on how different size donations can be of use.
• Transparency: project leaders must be open for our team and major donors to meet with them on-site, review the use of funds and be open to visitors, volunteers and student groups for site visits.
Therefore, we seek to remove all risks associated with your donation. By collaborating with projects where we personally know the management on the ground and which we have chosen based on the rigorous selection critera above, you can be sure that your donation will support long-term sustainable projects that are financially efficient and transparent and where you as the donor have the opportunity to visit the projects and see firsthand the impact that your donations has had on children’s health and education.
