The Children We Support
Sakka Foundation supports Cambodian "at risk" children. The children we support are economic orphans, some of them have lost one or both parents, some have HIV virus, others have lost their parents to AIDS. Many of them have families that are too poor to care for them, or were previously living in homes with domestic violence. In most cases, the kids we support live together in children's communities, where they are provided shelter, food, medical attention, education and chance in life.
In their early years, the need is for food, shelter, education, medical assistance. Also for teachers and medical professionals to help these kids. As many of the children are now growing up, the need changes to planning for their future once they leave the community - this means vocational and university educational grants. Sakka today seeks to continue the support of the younger children, as well as seek out additional funding for further education for the teenagers.
